Mini walked out of her house, perfectly ready for the day as usual. As she walked along the street to college she pulled out her phone, calling both Cook and Franky but their phones were either off or they weren’t answering. Mini rolled her eyes and groaned, mumbling that they needed to pick up their phones for once to herself as she dropped her phone back in her bag. As she neared Roundview, she stopped short and decided against going inside. She was in too shit of a mood, too annoyed and too stressed to have to deal with everyone there, assuming her mates wouldn’t be there, they never were these past few weeks. She had even tried to contact Rich a few times, god only knew where he was. Mini turned around and walked away from the building as she fished through her bag for cigarettes or something to preoccupy herself with. She finally pulled out a cigarette and a lighter, attempting to light it but no such luck. Mini threw the lighter on the ground, frustrated as she stuffed the cigarette back into her pack and sat there with crossed arms, staying silent.

While practicing her ballet, she and her grand parents had talked about where she would like to attend for college. Grace knew for sure that she did not want to go back to Mayberry’s, So the only other feasible option would Roundview. Daniel had gotten in touch with Doug and asked him what Grace would have to get get back into Roundview and he told him that she would have to coursework for the classes she missed. Doug suggested that she get a tutor, while he had full confidence in her abilities it was still a lot work to get done and some guidance would help. So that’s where Grace was headed. To the school’s library to meet up with her tutor.

  She walked from her Grandfather’s car towards the entrance when she spotted a familiar frustrated blonde.

” Mini? What’s wrong? That’s certainly not a happy face.”

Mini spaced out until she heard someone speaking to her. She looked up to see a worried Grace, “Gracey!” she said and smiled, getting up and pulling her in for a hug. Mini hadn’t seen Grace since she was released, she was more than happy to see her back into regular life. Mini? What’s wrong? That’s certainly not a happy face. Mini shrugged and shook her head, “Nothing, Franky and Cook haven’t been pickin’ up their phones..guessing that both are busy, Franky’s probably with Nick or something,” she told her and smiled, “Don’t worry about it, nothing big,” she reassured her. She pushed her blonde curls out of her face and looked at Grace, “So how does it feel to be back…in like normal life?” she said and laughed, “Where were you off to anyway?” she asked tilting her head, starting to play with her earring, “Good to be back in the swing of things?” she asked. Mini realized that she was bombarding Grace with questions, “Sorry..too many questions, just excited to see you, I missed you..so much,” she hugged her again and sighed, closing her eyes.

Grace hugged her back just as fiercely, she laughed at her surprise.

” Silly girl I sent everyone a text, didn’t you get it?”

When they finally separated Mini told her why she had been a little upset.

“Nothing, Franky and Cook haven’t been pickin’ up their phones..guessing that both are busy, Franky’s probably with Nick or something….Don’t worry about it, nothing big”

It wasn’t like Franky to not pick up her phone, especially if was one of them were trying to get a hold of her. Mini said not worry about so she wouldn’t for now, she probably was with Nick.She wasn’t too sure about Cook. A light breeze came through. She was glad that she thought to wear a sundress.

“Where were you off to anyway?…Good to be back in the swing of things? Sorry..too many questions, just excited to see you, I missed you..so much,”

“The library, I have to meet my tutor…. It’s wonderful. I’m staying with my grandparents instead of mum and dad., um granddad talked to Doug and asked him what I would need to do to get back into Roundview and he said that I would have to make up all the course work I missed. He set also set tutor for me to help me keep organized and stuff. I won’t officially be starting classes until all my course work is completed.”

Grace hugged Mini back, ” I’ve missed you too Mini-moo. You heading to class right now?”

Silly girl I sent everyone a text, didn’t you get it? Mini smiled, “Yeah..still can’t believe it though, been so long..” she widened her eyes slightly and shook her head. She took out her phone again but just stuffed it back in her pocket, feeling anxious from checking it so often, it was probably nothing; at least that’s what she kept telling herself. The library, I have to meet my tutor…. It’s wonderful. I’m staying with my grandparents instead of mum and dad. Mini lifted up her eyebrows, “Really..the reins are off..gonna let loose, go a little wild?” she joked and nudged her, giggling with her. Mini listened to Grace and nodded along as she told her about tutoring and going back to Roundview, I won’t officially be starting classes until all my course work is completed. Mini smiled again, “I wouldn’t rush to get it done if I were you, I swear I’m going to kill everyone there,” Grace gave her a look to tell her to be nice and Mini rolled her eyes, “Fine..sorry, sorry, I’ll be nice,” she mumbled and sighed. I’ve missed you too Mini-moo. You heading to class right now? Mini bit her lip and looked down the street then shook her head, “Nah, I wasn’t feeling well, tired..was going to go home or something but just needed some fresh air outside first,” she rubbed the back of her neck. Mini got up, “Here, I’ll walk with you to the library,” she told her and nodded. They started walked and Mini walked next to Grace, linking arms with her and a smile on her face, Grace always put her in that mood, that happy like everything will be alright mood, then again she did that to most people. Mini looked at her, “So..spoken to Rich?” she nudged her and grinned. 

The girls took their took their time get to the library, they would talk about little things and joked around with each other. It was nice being around people that were familiar to her. Living with her grandparents was nice but the neighborhood was so quiet. Lyle was nice, but he was always so nervous around her that they didn’t really talk much. They either sat around or went over a few dance steps. Her grandmother had told her that he goes to Roundview so she might see him around. Mini nudged her with her a grin on her face.

“So..spoken to Rich?”

Grace frowned when she brought him up.

” I haven’t….I mean I’ve sent texts and I’ve left two voicemails and still…nothing. It’s like he’s disappeared off the face of the earth. I hope everything is okay…”

She was worried, to put it simply. Something hadn’t felt right within her for a while now. She just wished that he would call, just to tell her that he was okay.

” He never came back to see me at the hospital, even after he said that he would take me somewhere special. Maybe he’s rethinking o-our friendship…I don’t know what I could’ve done Mini. It must’ve been something though I just can’t think of it. My gran thinks I should get a new guy mate…she even tried to set me up a boy in the neighborhood. She says that he goes here…but I don’t want a new fella, mate or not…I just want…Richard.” 

Mini bit her lip and furrowed her brows, her smile faded as soon as Grace’s did. I haven’t….I mean I’ve sent texts and I’ve left two voicemails and still…nothing. It’s like he’s disappeared off the face of the earth. I hope everything is okay… Mini put her arm around Grace and hugged her, “Sure he’s fine..that’s just..Rich being mopey and goth or whatever like always,” she reassured her, not wanting her to get upset, “Seems everyone has just been busy these past few weeks…no one seems to pick up their phone anymore,” she rolled her eyes then scratched the back of her head as she ruffled her curls. Maybe he’s rethinking o-our friendship…I don’t know what I could’ve done Mini. It must’ve been something though I just can’t think of it. Mini shook her head quickly, “He wouldn’t do that to you…,” restraining from adding an ‘I think’ at the end, “Like I said..probably busy with like coursework,” she shrugged, even though she hadn’t seen him at college in a while she just did what she did best: pretend like nothing was wrong and everything was just dandy. My gran thinks I should get a new guy mate…she even tried to set me up a boy in the neighborhood. She says that he goes here…but I don’t want a new fella, mate or not…I just want…Richard. Mini scrunched up her nose, “Ew..make sure he’s not like a total twat or some skeevy lunatic,” she told Grace but then realized what she was saying, “I mean, if you don’t want that..don’t let her change your mind. I know Rich cares, don’t think anyone has heard from him..I wouldn’t worry, yah?” she smiled at Grace and rubbed her back, “I’m certain he wants you too,” she poked at Grace’s arm and giggled, she hadn’t spoken to Rich but she knew that it probably was true, she hoped it was. Mini let out a sigh, “Enough of the sad talk, later this week we’re going to get you in one of your pretty little dresses and take you out,” she grinned and nodded, “Spoken to Liv?” she asked, “Think she’s been busy with her boyfriend..haven’t seen her around much,” she said, feeling like Liv was avoiding her but she would never admit that. 

Mini, even though she would probably never admit it, was a very sweet girl. She was caring and knew how to make her friends happier. Grace knew that Mini would always be on her side.

” Thanks Minis…I just…I don’t know I’m feeling a little insecure right now. Why isn’t he talking to me? Why aren’t we talking to each other like we used to? Where are all my friends?” Grace put her head on the blonde’s shoulder and sighed.

” Is it sad that I can’t see myself with anyone else? To want someone so much… To be happy just to know that they’re near?”

Grace and Mini stopped and sat on a low wall.

” I haven’t seen Liv either, maybe you’re right. She’s probably with her boyfriend.” Grace felt uneasy. The last text message she had got from Liv sounded very ominous. Like she was upset about something. 

Suddenly she didn’t feel like going to her tutor meeting, she didn’t think that she could focus anyway. But then she didn’t want to disappoint Doug, he went through all that trouble to find her the tutor, she could at least meet the person. 

” Walk me to the library? We could meet my tutor and then you could got to class…if you want…”

“Sure Grace, I’ll go. Have to make sure that this person isn’t some wakadoo.” Grace laughed, grabbed on to Mini’s hand.

” Doug says that he’s really smart…and that he’s been a great tutor to other people. He goes to Uni.” They got to the library and started to look around. The library was mostly empty, the girls were about to leave until they heard a voice.

” Grace Blood? Hi. I’m Louis Everly, I’m going to be your tutor.”

 Thanks Minis…I just…I don’t know I’m feeling a little insecure right now. Why isn’t he talking to me? Why aren’t we talking to each other like we used to? Where are all my friends? Mini sighed and nodded, “I’ve been asking myself the same thing…” she told her then scrunched up her face, “About the friends I mean..not Rich..ew,” she said and giggled with a nudge from Grace. Mini sat down next to Grace as she spoke, Is it sad that I can’t see myself with anyone else? To want someone so much… To be happy just to know that they’re near?  Mini looked down and thought about what she asked, then thought about how she answered. She looked back up and shook her head, “It’s not sad, good that you’re happy when he’s near..can be a bit overwhelming..I’m guessing,” she ruffled her hair and rested her chin on her hand as she let out a sigh, “It’ll be ok…everything will be ok,” she told Grace what she had been telling herself for weeks, actually, her whole life. Walk me to the library? We could meet my tutor and then you could got to class…if you want… Mini agreed to go with her and laughed with Grace as they walked along, Doug says that he’s really smart…and that he’s been a great tutor to other people. He goes to Uni. Mini lifted up her eyebrow and nodded, “Bet he’s like some young Einstein or some shit,” she joked, snickering to herself. Grace Blood? Hi. I’m Louis Everly, I’m going to be your tutor, Mini crossed her arms and looked the tutor up and down with judgment, like she always did when she met people; instantly put on the bitch front, well most of the time. Mini shook his hand, “Hi, I’m Minerva McGuinness, Grace’s personal assistant, any time you want to meet with her you have to confirm with me first,” she said with a huge, obnoxious grin. Grace gave her a look and hit her arm lightly as she pressed her lips together, holding her laughter in. She walked away from him a bit with Grace, “You gonna be ok? For all you know, he can be a total creep,” she told Grace, always seeing the worst in people at first impressions. 

Grace rolled her eyes when Mini introduced herself.

“Hi, I’m Minerva McGuinness, Grace’s personal assistant, any time you want to meet with her you have to confirm with me first.”

Louis was able to go with the flow, “Well Ms. McGuinness, I wouldn’t want to incur your wrath, you seem like you could do some damage.”

Grace laughed and Mini smirked. She brought Grace over to chat.

“You gonna be ok? For all you know, he can be a total creep.”

” Mini, we’re in the library and there are cameras every where. I think I’ll be okay. Besides, Doug’s the one that set this up. He must be on the level. I’ll text you when I’m done. We could go to the cafe and get something. Like old times, okay?” Grace rubbed her friends arm soothingly.

” Alright, but if he tries anything just tell me and I’ll deal with him.” Grace shook her head told waved goodbye.

She walked back to her tutor and smiled, ” Let’s begin shall we?”

” We shall. Anything in particular you to go with?”

” English! It’s a my favorite.” Louis laughed at her enthusiasm

” Well then English it is.” They walked over to a near by table and began working.

 Mini smirked and lifted up her eyebrow, impressed that the guy wasn’t instantly afraid or intimidated. She walked away a bit with Grace, letting her speak, Mini, we’re in the library and there are cameras every where. I think I’ll be okay. Besides, Doug’s the one that set this up. He must be on the level. I’ll text you when I’m done. We could go to the cafe and get something. Like old times, okay? Mini rolled her eyes and shifted her weight to one side, letting her bag hang on her arm, “Fine,” she mumbled then started to walk away, pointing at Grace, “I’ll be waiting for you at the cafe,” she called out and snickered as she left the library, making her way to the cafe they used to always go to try and feel mature when they were 15. She walked around for a bit before she eventually just went to the cafe. Mini sat there and smoked a couple cigarettes, tapping her finger on the table as she waited around for Grace. She was onto her third cigarette then flicked it onto the ground as her phone buzzed. Mini read a text from Grace, letting her know she was done, “Finally,” Mini muttered to herself as she put her phone down on the table. A few minutes later Grace walked over to the table and sat down across from her. Mini looked at her, lifting up her eyebrows, “So..,” she said, a smirk slowly forming on her face, “Did he..’tutor’ you,” she said using her fingers as quotations and winking as she laughed to herself. Grace made a face and Mini caught her breath as she continued laughing, “Joking, joking you know I am,” she said and shook her head. 

Grace gave her a playful glare and sat herself down.

” He wasn’t bad actually, I can see why Doug picked him. He certainly knows his material. We did English today and sometimes I would talk books that I liked. He said that he found Jane Austen dry and I nearly had a heart-attack. He made up for it by saying that he liked Harry Potter. So…i guess he’s alright…literature wise.” 

She asked Mini if she had eaten, she shook her head. Grace flagged down a waitress and ordered their special pastry. 2 large gooey cinnamon rolls for them to share, with rainbow sprinkles that were bake inside and two ice teas. 

” We’re meeting up twice a week to do course work. I think it will be okay. I just can’t wait to start back at Roundview. Back to normalacy.”

Taking a bite of cinnamon bun, she help but smile, ” Heaven, absolute heaven. I’ve missed these so much!”

” We also talked about you Mins. He said that you had “moxie”. I told him, that it was just your way. He said that I was lucky to have a friend who was protective. I told him about you, Livs and Franky, how you guys always look for me. I told him that I couldn’t ask for better group of mates, we get each other. We’re each other’s rock.”

And then a thought struck her, that made her laugh, ” Oh yeah, Louis told me the next he saw you he would need your number. Being my personal assistant, he figured he would have to contact you some way. Wouldn’t want to incur the wrath of Minerva McGuinness.”

Mini smiled and widened her eyes, “The horror!” she joked, knowing how much Grace loved her literature. They ordered the food and Mini leaned back in her chair, smiling unknowingly, feeling just like old times when everything was simple. I just can’t wait to start back at Roundview. Back to normalacy. Mini played with her necklace, “I can’t wait for you to start back at Roundview either, no one is ever there except Rider who is like lurking the walls with his repulsiveness constantly,” she made a face and giggled. The cinnamon buns came and Mini took a bite of one, “Perfect,” she said along with Grace, setting it back down and licked some of the icing off her finger, leaning forward in her seat. We also talked about you Mins. He said that you had “moxie”. I told him, that it was just your way. He said that I was lucky to have a friend who was protective. Mini cocked her eyebrow, “Well, that I am, protective, always have been, always will be,” she said beaming with a proud expression. I told him about you, Livs and Franky, how you guys always look for me. I told him that I couldn’t ask for better group of mates, we get each other. We’re each other’s rock. Mini nodded along and picked at her food, not even saying anything; there was nothing to be said, it was true, they were each other’s rocks and that’s all there was to it. Oh yeah, Louis told me the next he saw you he would need your number. Being my personal assistant, he figured he would have to contact you some way. Wouldn’t want to incur the wrath of Minerva McGuinness. Mini scrunched up her nose, “My number?” she said and laughed, “Well…we do know that my wrath is the worst of all,” she told her, “it’s like..a hurricane,” she winked and moved around a salt shaker that was on the table. She looked at Grace, “Did he try to make a move on my Gracey pie?” she poked her arm, letting out a small giggle. 

She blush a bit, and took a large bite out of her cinnamon bun.

” I wouldn’t say that…I mean he was certainly friendly. He complimented me on reading choices sans Austen. And he we would scooch over at times…nothing inappropriate.”

    The whole flirting thing always came as surprise to her. Grace never thought that she was all that special. She would’ve expected Louis to go after Mini, she was beautiful. She what guys looked for…

You are the most people woman I have ever met.

Rich had told her that on a roof top during their Morocco trip. And again when she was at the hospital. Did he still think that now? Ugh, she didn’t want to think about Rich…it only made sad. Where was he? Was he okay? Did he even like her anymore? These were some of the questions that she wanted to ask him.

” Besides what would he want with a girl in college? He’s sophmore in Uni…I’m sure he has his hands full with them to ever take notice of me…”

..And he we would scooch over at times…nothing inappropriate, Mini snicked and leaned forward on the table, resting her chin on the palm of her hand and picked at her food with the other hand. Maybe he was flirting a little but if he was I wasn’t paying much attention to it…never can tell that sort of thing… Mini smiled and shook her head, “He’d be stupid not to flirt with you,” she pointed at Grace then paid for the food with her. Besides what would he want with a girl in college? He’s sophmore in Uni…I’m sure he has his hands full with them to ever take notice of me… Mini stood up and grabbed her bag, “Common, walk me home,” she told her and linked arms with her. They walked slowly and Mini shrugged, “Dunno..maybe he’s like..into younger girls,” she said, judgment in her tone, “Doug did say he ‘tutors’ a lot,” she nudged her and nodded. She ran her fingers through her hair hair then readjusted her curls, “Maybe he’s a total creep but like..at first impression tries to make himself seem all nice and calm and collected…,” her eyes widened and she shook her head, “Nah,” she shrugged, “I can sit in the corner of your next session and spy…pretend I’m doing my own work,” she said, like it was the most brilliant plan, “I could read his and your body language or whatever,” she told her and laughed, “..Still Team Rich,” she mumbled and rolled her eyes. 

Grace smiled, ” If it would make you feel better Mins…I don’t think we have anything to worry about.”

Mini gave her a look, ” I’m sure of it. I trust Doug’s judgement, when has he ever let us down?”

The blonde was still not convinced. If she had it her way she’d probably want to have a background check run on the guy. ” Mini he’s just here to help me get back to in Roundview, nothing more.”

“..Still Team Rich,”

Still ” Team Rich” alright…if he would just answer a phone call. They finally got to the McGuiness house she saw Shelly working out in the backyard. 

”’ Hello girls! Oh hey there Gracey haven’t seen you ‘round in a long while.” She put down her arm weights and wiped her brow.

” Hey mum…”

” Hello Ms. McGuiness! Yeah…I was sick but I’m all better now.” Mini pushed her gently to the stairs.

” We’ll see you later mum…girl talk..and what not…” They went to Mini’s room and Grace plopped down on the bed and looked around.

” Just as I remember it.”

Mini he’s just here to help me get back to in Roundview, nothing more. Mini lifted up her eyebrows, “Mhm..nothing more,” she said quietly and chuckled. They walked into the house and Mini rolled her eyes to Shelly working out in the backyard. Hello girls! Oh hey there Gracey haven’t seen you ‘round in a long while. Mini sighed, “Hey mum..,” she said and gave her a wave before Grace started initiated friendly conversation with her. Hello Ms. McGuiness! Yeah…I was sick but I’m all better now. Mini nodded, “Yep..all better, happy, happy,” she said pushing Grace to the stairs and up them as she told her to keep walking under her breath before calling out to Shelly. Just as I remember it. Mini giggled, “Pink?” she asked and laughed, plopping down on the bed next to her. She looked around her room then over at her closet. Mini giggled and hopped up, skipping over to the closet. She pulled out a dress and grinned, showing it to Grace, “Remember this?” she said before putting the dress down on the bed. Mini looked at it with crossed arms, shaking her head, “All of us went out that one night…that creep came over to you and wouldn’t leave you alone until Franks, Liv and I ganged up on him..well more me and Liv, Franks kinda just told him to fuck off and then Liv and I got our..bitch on,” she laughed and sat back down on the bed and sighed, “I miss those times..”

She looked at the dress and thought back to the night. The girls wanted to have a fun night out and Liv had heard about a house part that wasn’t too far from her place. Since Grace didn’t have a lot of “going out” clothes Mini had let her borrow one of her own. Grace stuck to just hanging around the girls until a guy asked her if she wanted to dance. She wasn’t sure about it, but it was one dance. What could it hurt? It was all nice and innocent until he kept trying to touch her butt.  She told him that she had a boyfriend but he wouldn’t stop. Mini and the other girls had noticed how uncomfortable she was and so they came over.  Liv and Mini basically tagged team the guy while Franky had taken her to the side and asked her if she was okay.

” Yeah, it was interesting night. I don’t understand guys…no means no.” Grace’s thoughts were starting to drift off to Franky and that guy Luke. That whole situation scared her. She took out her mobile and texted her.

” Rich wouldn’t act like that…none of our boys would act like that. Why can’t they be more like our boys…it can’t be that hard to act decent can it?’

Grace sighed,” That guy was such a…a dickhead. And then that drunk girl spilled her drink on your dress. We had to leave by that point because you looked like you were going to murder her.”

At the point Grace had to giggle. Messing with Mini’s clothes was like signing your own death warrant.

Yeah, it was interesting night. I don’t understand guys…no means no. Mini rolled her eyes and sighed, “Some guys are just..pricks, just pushy and obnoxious,” she shook her head, “Not all of them are like that luckily..” she told Grace and sighed, laying down on the bed as she looked up at her ceiling.  Rich wouldn’t act like that…none of our boys would act like that. Why can’t they be more like our boys…it can’t be that hard to act decent can it? Mini laughed, Cook would probably do something like that but at least be more sly about it with some slag, at least he would before they were dating, “Yeah well Rich is a prick in his on ways,” she joked then snickered as Grace nudged her, shaking her head. That guy was such a…a dickhead. And then that drunk girl spilled her drink on your dress. We had to leave by that point because you looked like you were going to murder her. Mini widened her eyes, “It took me forever to get the drink out of my dress..smelled like shitty alcohol for weeks..,” she scoffed, “Yeah you guys basically had to hold me back..I was about to rip her cheap extensions out,” she mumbled. One thing to stay on her good side: don’t mess up her clothing. Mini sighed and put the dress back in her closet, “Can you stay over..like old times?” she asked and made a puppy dog face, “Or will you not be allowed?” she asked and sighed.

” Sure, Mins. Normally dad would want me to come home but since I’m staying with my grandparents it shouldn’t be a problem.” Grace took out her mobile and called her grandparents. If she was going to stay over she would need some of her things from the house. She talked to her grandmother and she sent her grandfather to the McGuiness residence. Grace raced down the stair to the car and got her things.

” Thank you for doing this pop-pop…” She kissed him on the cheek.

” Not a problem darling…how did your tutoring session go?”

” It was okay, he’s really smart and stuff…”

” Was he was a gentlemen? No improper advances…”

” No grandpa, I swear you guys are all being silly. Now I have to go back to Mini.”

” I just worry ducky…I know how boys are with pretty girls…”

” I assure you, nothing happened. I don’t think anything will.”

Daniel sighed, ” Well I will see you tomorrow correct?”

“Yeah, why don’t you and gran go out tonight. I bet she’d like that.”

“Okay, call me tomorrow and I’ll pick you up.” Daniel kissed Grace on the forehead and got back in the car. When drove off Grace went back into the house to Mini’s room.

” So McGuiness, what do you have planned for us tonight?”

Mini threw the lighter on the ground, frustrated as she stuffed the cigarette back into her pack and sat there with crossed arms, staying silent.

While practicing her ballet, she and her grand parents had talked about where she would like to attend for college. Grace knew for sure that she did not want to go back to Mayberry’s, So the only other feasible option would Roundview. Daniel had gotten in touch with Doug and asked him what Grace would have to get get back into Roundview and he told him that she would have to coursework for the classes she missed. Doug suggested that she get a tutor, while he had full confidence in her abilities it was still a lot work to get done and some guidance would help. So that’s where Grace was headed. To the school’s library to meet up with her tutor.

  She walked from her Grandfather’s car towards the entrance when she spotted a familiar frustrated blonde.

” Mini? What’s wrong? That’s certainly not a happy face.”

Mini spaced out until she heard someone speaking to her. She looked up to see a worried Grace, “Gracey!” she said and smiled, getting up and pulling her in for a hug. Mini hadn’t seen Grace since she was released, she was more than happy to see her back into regular life. Mini? What’s wrong? That’s certainly not a happy face. Mini shrugged and shook her head, “Nothing, Franky and Cook haven’t been pickin’ up their phones..guessing that both are busy, Franky’s probably with Nick or something,” she told her and smiled, “Don’t worry about it, nothing big,” she reassured her. She pushed her blonde curls out of her face and looked at Grace, “So how does it feel to be back…in like normal life?” she said and laughed, “Where were you off to anyway?” she asked tilting her head, starting to play with her earring, “Good to be back in the swing of things?” she asked. Mini realized that she was bombarding Grace with questions, “Sorry..too many questions, just excited to see you, I missed you..so much,” she hugged her again and sighed, closing her eyes.

Grace hugged her back just as fiercely, she laughed at her surprise.

” Silly girl I sent everyone a text, didn’t you get it?”

When they finally separated Mini told her why she had been a little upset.

“Nothing, Franky and Cook haven’t been pickin’ up their phones..guessing that both are busy, Franky’s probably with Nick or something….Don’t worry about it, nothing big”

It wasn’t like Franky to not pick up her phone, especially if was one of them were trying to get a hold of her. Mini said not worry about so she wouldn’t for now, she probably was with Nick.She wasn’t too sure about Cook. A light breeze came through. She was glad that she thought to wear a sundress.

“Where were you off to anyway?…Good to be back in the swing of things? Sorry..too many questions, just excited to see you, I missed you..so much,”

“The library, I have to meet my tutor…. It’s wonderful. I’m staying with my grandparents instead of mum and dad., um granddad talked to Doug and asked him what I would need to do to get back into Roundview and he said that I would have to make up all the course work I missed. He set also set tutor for me to help me keep organized and stuff. I won’t officially be starting classes until all my course work is completed.”

Grace hugged Mini back, ” I’ve missed you too Mini-moo. You heading to class right now?”

Silly girl I sent everyone a text, didn’t you get it? Mini smiled, “Yeah..still can’t believe it though, been so long..” she widened her eyes slightly and shook her head. She took out her phone again but just stuffed it back in her pocket, feeling anxious from checking it so often, it was probably nothing; at least that’s what she kept telling herself. The library, I have to meet my tutor…. It’s wonderful. I’m staying with my grandparents instead of mum and dad. Mini lifted up her eyebrows, “Really..the reins are off..gonna let loose, go a little wild?” she joked and nudged her, giggling with her. Mini listened to Grace and nodded along as she told her about tutoring and going back to Roundview, I won’t officially be starting classes until all my course work is completed. Mini smiled again, “I wouldn’t rush to get it done if I were you, I swear I’m going to kill everyone there,” Grace gave her a look to tell her to be nice and Mini rolled her eyes, “Fine..sorry, sorry, I’ll be nice,” she mumbled and sighed. I’ve missed you too Mini-moo. You heading to class right now? Mini bit her lip and looked down the street then shook her head, “Nah, I wasn’t feeling well, tired..was going to go home or something but just needed some fresh air outside first,” she rubbed the back of her neck. Mini got up, “Here, I’ll walk with you to the library,” she told her and nodded. They started walked and Mini walked next to Grace, linking arms with her and a smile on her face, Grace always put her in that mood, that happy like everything will be alright mood, then again she did that to most people. Mini looked at her, “So..spoken to Rich?” she nudged her and grinned. 

The girls took their took their time get to the library, they would talk about little things and joked around with each other. It was nice being around people that were familiar to her. Living with her grandparents was nice but the neighborhood was so quiet. Lyle was nice, but he was always so nervous around her that they didn’t really talk much. They either sat around or went over a few dance steps. Her grandmother had told her that he goes to Roundview so she might see him around. Mini nudged her with her a grin on her face.

“So..spoken to Rich?”

Grace frowned when she brought him up.

” I haven’t….I mean I’ve sent texts and I’ve left two voicemails and still…nothing. It’s like he’s disappeared off the face of the earth. I hope everything is okay…”

” He never came back to see me at the hospital, even after he said that he would take me somewhere special. Maybe he’s rethinking o-our friendship…I don’t know what I could’ve done Mini. It must’ve been something though I just can’t think of it. My gran thinks I should get a new guy mate…she even tried to set me up a boy in the neighborhood. She says that he goes here…but I don’t want a new fella, mate or not…I just want…Richard.”

My gran thinks I should get a new guy mate…she even tried to set me up a boy in the neighborhood. She says that he goes here…but I don’t want a new fella, mate or not…I just want…Richard. Mini scrunched up her nose, “Ew..make sure he’s not like a total twat or some skeevy lunatic,” she told Grace but then realized what she was saying, “I mean, if you don’t want that..don’t let her change your mind. I know Rich cares, don’t think anyone has heard from him..I wouldn’t worry, yah?” she smiled at Grace and rubbed her back, “I’m certain he wants you too,” she poked at Grace’s arm and giggled, she hadn’t spoken to Rich but she knew that it probably was true, she hoped it was. Mini let out a sigh, “Enough of the sad talk, later this week we’re going to get you in one of your pretty little dresses and take you out,” she grinned and nodded, “Spoken to Liv?” she asked, “Think she’s been busy with her boyfriend..haven’t seen her around much,” she said, feeling like Liv was avoiding her but she would never admit that. 

Mini, even though she would probably never admit it, was a very sweet girl. She was caring and knew how to make her friends happier. Grace knew that Mini would always be on her side.

” I haven’t seen Liv either, maybe you’re right. She’s probably with her boyfriend.” Grace felt uneasy. The last text message she had got from Liv sounded very ominous. Like she was upset about something. 

Suddenly she didn’t feel like going to her tutor meeting, she didn’t think that she could focus anyway. But then she didn’t want to disappoint Doug, he went through all that trouble to find her the tutor, she could at least meet the person. 

” Walk me to the library? We could meet my tutor and then you could got to class…if you want…”

“Sure Grace, I’ll go. Have to make sure that this person isn’t some wakadoo.” Grace laughed, grabbed on to Mini’s hand.

” Doug says that he’s really smart…and that he’s been a great tutor to other people. He goes to Uni.” They got to the library and started to look around. The library was mostly empty, the girls were about to leave until they heard a voice.

” Grace Blood? Hi. I’m Louis Everly, I’m going to be your tutor.”

She looked back up and shook her head, “It’s not sad, good that you’re happy when he’s near..can be a bit overwhelming..I’m guessing,” she ruffled her hair and rested her chin on her hand as she let out a sigh, “It’ll be ok…everything will be ok,” she told Grace what she had been telling herself for weeks, actually, her whole life. Walk me to the library? We could meet my tutor and then you could got to class…if you want… Mini agreed to go with her and laughed with Grace as they walked along, Doug says that he’s really smart…and that he’s been a great tutor to other people. He goes to Uni. Mini lifted up her eyebrow and nodded, “Bet he’s like some young Einstein or some shit,” she joked, snickering to herself. Grace Blood? Hi. I’m Louis Everly, I’m going to be your tutor, Mini crossed her arms and looked the tutor up and down with judgment, like she always did when she met people; instantly put on the bitch front, well most of the time. Mini shook his hand, “Hi, I’m Minerva McGuinness, Grace’s personal assistant, any time you want to meet with her you have to confirm with me first,” she said with a huge, obnoxious grin. Grace gave her a look and hit her arm lightly as she pressed her lips together, holding her laughter in. She walked away from him a bit with Grace, “You gonna be ok? For all you know, he can be a total creep,” she told Grace, always seeing the worst in people at first impressions. 

Grace rolled her eyes when Mini introduced herself.

“Hi, I’m Minerva McGuinness, Grace’s personal assistant, any time you want to meet with her you have to confirm with me first.”

Louis was able to go with the flow, “Well Ms. McGuinness, I wouldn’t want to incur your wrath, you seem like you could do some damage.”

Grace laughed and Mini smirked. She brought Grace over to chat.

“You gonna be ok? For all you know, he can be a total creep.”

” Mini, we’re in the library and there are cameras every where. I think I’ll be okay. Besides, Doug’s the one that set this up. He must be on the level. I’ll text you when I’m done. We could go to the cafe and get something. Like old times, okay?” Grace rubbed her friends arm soothingly.

” Alright, but if he tries anything just tell me and I’ll deal with him.” Grace shook her head told waved goodbye.

She walked back to her tutor and smiled, ” Let’s begin shall we?”

” We shall. Anything in particular you to go with?”

” English! It’s a my favorite.” Louis laughed at her enthusiasm

” Well then English it is.” They walked over to a near by table and began working.

 Mini smirked and lifted up her eyebrow, impressed that the guy wasn’t instantly afraid or intimidated. She walked away a bit with Grace, letting her speak, Mini, we’re in the library and there are cameras every where. I think I’ll be okay. Besides, Doug’s the one that set this up. He must be on the level. I’ll text you when I’m done. We could go to the cafe and get something. Like old times, okay? Mini rolled her eyes and shifted her weight to one side, letting her bag hang on her arm, “Fine,” she mumbled then started to walk away, pointing at Grace, “I’ll be waiting for you at the cafe,” she called out and snickered as she left the library, making her way to the cafe they used to always go to try and feel mature when they were 15. She walked around for a bit before she eventually just went to the cafe. Mini sat there and smoked a couple cigarettes, tapping her finger on the table as she waited around for Grace. She was onto her third cigarette then flicked it onto the ground as her phone buzzed. Mini read a text from Grace, letting her know she was done, “Finally,” Mini muttered to herself as she put her phone down on the table. A few minutes later Grace walked over to the table and sat down across from her. Mini looked at her, lifting up her eyebrows, “So..,” she said, a smirk slowly forming on her face, “Did he..’tutor’ you,” she said using her fingers as quotations and winking as she laughed to herself. Grace made a face and Mini caught her breath as she continued laughing, “Joking, joking you know I am,” she said and shook her head. 

Grace gave her a playful glare and sat herself down.

” He wasn’t bad actually, I can see why Doug picked him. He certainly knows his material. We did English today and sometimes I would talk books that I liked. He said that he found Jane Austen dry and I nearly had a heart-attack. He made up for it by saying that he liked Harry Potter. So…i guess he’s alright…literature wise.” 

She asked Mini if she had eaten, she shook her head. Grace flagged down a waitress and ordered their special pastry. 2 large gooey cinnamon rolls for them to share, with rainbow sprinkles that were bake inside and two ice teas. 

” We’re meeting up twice a week to do course work. I think it will be okay. I just can’t wait to start back at Roundview. Back to normalacy.”

Taking a bite of cinnamon bun, she help but smile, ” Heaven, absolute heaven. I’ve missed these so much!”

” We also talked about you Mins. He said that you had “moxie”. I told him, that it was just your way. He said that I was lucky to have a friend who was protective. I told him about you, Livs and Franky, how you guys always look for me. I told him that I couldn’t ask for better group of mates, we get each other. We’re each other’s rock.”

And then a thought struck her, that made her laugh, ” Oh yeah, Louis told me the next he saw you he would need your number. Being my personal assistant, he figured he would have to contact you some way. Wouldn’t want to incur the wrath of Minerva McGuinness.”

She looked at Grace, “Did he try to make a move on my Gracey pie?” she poked her arm, letting out a small giggle. 

She blush a bit, and took a large bite out of her cinnamon bun.

” I wouldn’t say that…I mean he was certainly friendly. He complimented me on reading choices sans Austen. And he we would scooch over at times…nothing inappropriate.”

He’s sophmore in Uni…I’m sure he has his hands full with them to ever take notice of me… Mini stood up and grabbed her bag, “Common, walk me home,” she told her and linked arms with her. They walked slowly and Mini shrugged, “Dunno..maybe he’s like..into younger girls,” she said, judgment in her tone, “Doug did say he ‘tutors’ a lot,” she nudged her and nodded. She ran her fingers through her hair hair then readjusted her curls, “Maybe he’s a total creep but like..at first impression tries to make himself seem all nice and calm and collected…,” her eyes widened and she shook her head, “Nah,” she shrugged, “I can sit in the corner of your next session and spy…pretend I’m doing my own work,” she said, like it was the most brilliant plan, “I could read his and your body language or whatever,” she told her and laughed, “..Still Team Rich,” she mumbled and rolled her eyes. 

Grace smiled, ” If it would make you feel better Mins…I don’t think we have anything to worry about.”

Mini gave her a look, ” I’m sure of it. I trust Doug’s judgement, when has he ever let us down?”

The blonde was still not convinced. If she had it her way she’d probably want to have a background check run on the guy. ” Mini he’s just here to help me get back to in Roundview, nothing more.”

Still ” Team Rich” alright…if he would just answer a phone call. They finally got to the McGuiness house she saw Shelly working out in the backyard. 

”’ Hello girls! Oh hey there Gracey haven’t seen you ‘round in a long while.” She put down her arm weights and wiped her brow.

” Hello Ms. McGuiness! Yeah…I was sick but I’m all better now.” Mini pushed her gently to the stairs.

” We’ll see you later mum…girl talk..and what not…” They went to Mini’s room and Grace plopped down on the bed and looked around.

” Just as I remember it.”

Mini he’s just here to help me get back to in Roundview, nothing more. Mini lifted up her eyebrows, “Mhm..nothing more,” she said quietly and chuckled. They walked into the house and Mini rolled her eyes to Shelly working out in the backyard. Hello girls! Oh hey there Gracey haven’t seen you ‘round in a long while. Mini sighed, “Hey mum..,” she said and gave her a wave before Grace started initiated friendly conversation with her. Hello Ms. McGuiness! Yeah…I was sick but I’m all better now. Mini nodded, “Yep..all better, happy, happy,” she said pushing Grace to the stairs and up them as she told her to keep walking under her breath before calling out to Shelly. Just as I remember it. Mini giggled, “Pink?” she asked and laughed, plopping down on the bed next to her. She looked around her room then over at her closet. Mini giggled and hopped up, skipping over to the closet. She pulled out a dress and grinned, showing it to Grace, “Remember this?” she said before putting the dress down on the bed. Mini looked at it with crossed arms, shaking her head, “All of us went out that one night…that creep came over to you and wouldn’t leave you alone until Franks, Liv and I ganged up on him..well more me and Liv, Franks kinda just told him to fuck off and then Liv and I got our..bitch on,” she laughed and sat back down on the bed and sighed, “I miss those times..”

She looked at the dress and thought back to the night. The girls wanted to have a fun night out and Liv had heard about a house part that wasn’t too far from her place. Since Grace didn’t have a lot of “going out” clothes Mini had let her borrow one of her own. Grace stuck to just hanging around the girls until a guy asked her if she wanted to dance. She wasn’t sure about it, but it was one dance. What could it hurt? It was all nice and innocent until he kept trying to touch her butt.  She told him that she had a boyfriend but he wouldn’t stop. Mini and the other girls had noticed how uncomfortable she was and so they came over.  Liv and Mini basically tagged team the guy while Franky had taken her to the side and asked her if she was okay.

” Yeah, it was interesting night. I don’t understand guys…no means no.” Grace’s thoughts were starting to drift off to Franky and that guy Luke. That whole situation scared her. She took out her mobile and texted her.

” Rich wouldn’t act like that…none of our boys would act like that. Why can’t they be more like our boys…it can’t be that hard to act decent can it?’

Grace sighed,” That guy was suck a…a dickhead. And then that drunk girl spilled her drink on your dress. We had to leave by that point because you looked like you were going to murder her.”

At the point Grace had to giggle. Messing with Mini’s clothes was like signing your own death warrant.

Mini walked out of her house, perfectly ready for the day as usual. She took out her phone again but just stuffed it back in her pocket, feeling anxious from checking it so often, it was probably nothing; at least that’s what she kept telling herself. The library, I have to meet my tutor…. It’s wonderful. I’m staying with my grandparents instead of mum and dad. Mini lifted up her eyebrows, “Really..the reins are off..gonna let loose, go a little wild?” she joked and nudged her, giggling with her. Mini listened to Grace and nodded along as she told her about tutoring and going back to Roundview, I won’t officially be starting classes until all my course work is completed. Mini smiled again, “I wouldn’t rush to get it done if I were you, I swear I’m going to kill everyone there,” Grace gave her a look to tell her to be nice and Mini rolled her eyes, “Fine..sorry, sorry, I’ll be nice,” she mumbled and sighed. I’ve missed you too Mini-moo. You heading to class right now? Mini bit her lip and looked down the street then shook her head, “Nah, I wasn’t feeling well, tired..was going to go home or something but just needed some fresh air outside first,” she rubbed the back of her neck. Mini got up, “Here, I’ll walk with you to the library,” she told her and nodded. They started walked and Mini walked next to Grace, linking arms with her and a smile on her face, Grace always put her in that mood, that happy like everything will be alright mood, then again she did that to most people. Mini looked at her, “So..spoken to Rich?” she nudged her and grinned. 

The girls took their took their time get to the library, they would talk about little things and joked around with each other. It was nice being around people that were familiar to her. Living with her grandparents was nice but the neighborhood was so quiet. Lyle was nice, but he was always so nervous around her that they didn’t really talk much. They either sat around or went over a few dance steps. Her grandmother had told her that he goes to Roundview so she might see him around. Mini nudged her with her a grin on her face.

“So..spoken to Rich?”

Grace frowned when she brought him up.

” I haven’t….I mean I’ve sent texts and I’ve left two voicemails and still…nothing. It’s like he’s disappeared off the face of the earth. I hope everything is okay…”

She was worried, to put it simply. Something hadn’t felt right within her for a while now. She just wished that he would call, just to tell her that he was okay.

” He never came back to see me at the hospital, even after he said that he would take me somewhere special. Maybe he’s rethinking o-our friendship…I don’t know what I could’ve done Mini. It must’ve been something though I just can’t think of it. My gran thinks I should get a new guy mate…she even tried to set me up a boy in the neighborhood. She says that he goes here…but I don’t want a new fella, mate or not…I just want…Richard.” 

Mini bit her lip and furrowed her brows, her smile faded as soon as Grace’s did. I haven’t….I mean I’ve sent texts and I’ve left two voicemails and still…nothing. I hope everything is okay… Mini put her arm around Grace and hugged her, “Sure he’s fine..that’s just..Rich being mopey and goth or whatever like always,” she reassured her, not wanting her to get upset, “Seems everyone has just been busy these past few weeks…no one seems to pick up their phone anymore,” she rolled her eyes then scratched the back of her head as she ruffled her curls. Maybe he’s rethinking o-our friendship…I don’t know what I could’ve done Mini. It must’ve been something though I just can’t think of it. Mini shook her head quickly, “He wouldn’t do that to you…,” restraining from adding an ‘I think’ at the end, “Like I said..probably busy with like coursework,” she shrugged, even though she hadn’t seen him at college in a while she just did what she did best: pretend like nothing was wrong and everything was just dandy. My gran thinks I should get a new guy mate…she even tried to set me up a boy in the neighborhood. She says that he goes here…but I don’t want a new fella, mate or not…I just want…Richard. Mini scrunched up her nose, “Ew..make sure he’s not like a total twat or some skeevy lunatic,” she told Grace but then realized what she was saying, “I mean, if you don’t want that..don’t let her change your mind. I know Rich cares, don’t think anyone has heard from him..I wouldn’t worry, yah?” she smiled at Grace and rubbed her back, “I’m certain he wants you too,” she poked at Grace’s arm and giggled, she hadn’t spoken to Rich but she knew that it probably was true, she hoped it was. Mini let out a sigh, “Enough of the sad talk, later this week we’re going to get you in one of your pretty little dresses and take you out,” she grinned and nodded, “Spoken to Liv?” she asked, “Think she’s been busy with her boyfriend..haven’t seen her around much,” she said, feeling like Liv was avoiding her but she would never admit that. 

Mini, even though she would probably never admit it, was a very sweet girl. She was caring and knew how to make her friends happier. Grace knew that Mini would always be on her side.

” I haven’t seen Liv either, maybe you’re right. She’s probably with her boyfriend.” Grace felt uneasy. The last text message she had got from Liv sounded very ominous. Like she was upset about something. 

Suddenly she didn’t feel like going to her tutor meeting, she didn’t think that she could focus anyway. But then she didn’t want to disappoint Doug, he went through all that trouble to find her the tutor, she could at least meet the person. 

” Walk me to the library? We could meet my tutor and then you could got to class…if you want…”

“Sure Grace, I’ll go. Have to make sure that this person isn’t some wakadoo.” Grace laughed, grabbed on to Mini’s hand.

” Doug says that he’s really smart…and that he’s been a great tutor to other people. He goes to Uni.” They got to the library and started to look around. The library was mostly empty, the girls were about to leave until they heard a voice.

” Grace Blood? Hi. I’m Louis Everly, I’m going to be your tutor.”

Grace gave her a look and hit her arm lightly as she pressed her lips together, holding her laughter in. She walked away from him a bit with Grace, “You gonna be ok? For all you know, he can be a total creep,” she told Grace, always seeing the worst in people at first impressions. 

Grace rolled her eyes when Mini introduced herself.

“Hi, I’m Minerva McGuinness, Grace’s personal assistant, any time you want to meet with her you have to confirm with me first.”

Louis was able to go with the flow, “Well Ms. McGuinness, I wouldn’t want to incur your wrath, you seem like you could do some damage.”

Grace laughed and Mini smirked. She brought Grace over to chat.

“You gonna be ok? For all you know, he can be a total creep.”

” Mini, we’re in the library and there are cameras every where. I think I’ll be okay. Besides, Doug’s the one that set this up. He must be on the level. I’ll text you when I’m done. We could go to the cafe and get something. Like old times, okay?” Grace rubbed her friends arm soothingly.

” Alright, but if he tries anything just tell me and I’ll deal with him.” Grace shook her head told waved goodbye.

She walked back to her tutor and smiled, ” Let’s begin shall we?”

” We shall. Anything in particular you to go with?”

” English! It’s a my favorite.” Louis laughed at her enthusiasm

” Well then English it is.” They walked over to a near by table and began working.

 Mini smirked and lifted up her eyebrow, impressed that the guy wasn’t instantly afraid or intimidated. She walked away a bit with Grace, letting her speak, Mini, we’re in the library and there are cameras every where. I think I’ll be okay. Besides, Doug’s the one that set this up. He must be on the level. I’ll text you when I’m done. We could go to the cafe and get something. Like old times, okay? Mini rolled her eyes and shifted her weight to one side, letting her bag hang on her arm, “Fine,” she mumbled then started to walk away, pointing at Grace, “I’ll be waiting for you at the cafe,” she called out and snickered as she left the library, making her way to the cafe they used to always go to try and feel mature when they were 15. She walked around for a bit before she eventually just went to the cafe. Mini sat there and smoked a couple cigarettes, tapping her finger on the table as she waited around for Grace. She was onto her third cigarette then flicked it onto the ground as her phone buzzed. Mini read a text from Grace, letting her know she was done, “Finally,” Mini muttered to herself as she put her phone down on the table. A few minutes later Grace walked over to the table and sat down across from her. Mini looked at her, lifting up her eyebrows, “So..,” she said, a smirk slowly forming on her face, “Did he..’tutor’ you,” she said using her fingers as quotations and winking as she laughed to herself. Grace made a face and Mini caught her breath as she continued laughing, “Joking, joking you know I am,” she said and shook her head. 

Grace gave her a playful glare and sat herself down.

” He wasn’t bad actually, I can see why Doug picked him. He certainly knows his material. We did English today and sometimes I would talk books that I liked. He said that he found Jane Austen dry and I nearly had a heart-attack. He made up for it by saying that he liked Harry Potter. So…i guess he’s alright…literature wise.” 

She asked Mini if she had eaten, she shook her head. Grace flagged down a waitress and ordered their special pastry. 2 large gooey cinnamon rolls for them to share, with rainbow sprinkles that were bake inside and two ice teas. 

” We’re meeting up twice a week to do course work. I think it will be okay. I just can’t wait to start back at Roundview. Back to normalacy.”

Taking a bite of cinnamon bun, she help but smile, ” Heaven, absolute heaven. I’ve missed these so much!”

” We also talked about you Mins. He said that you had “moxie”. I told him, that it was just your way. He said that I was lucky to have a friend who was protective. I told him about you, Livs and Franky, how you guys always look for me. I told him that I couldn’t ask for better group of mates, we get each other. We’re each other’s rock.”

And then a thought struck her, that made her laugh, ” Oh yeah, Louis told me the next he saw you he would need your number. Being my personal assistant, he figured he would have to contact you some way. Wouldn’t want to incur the wrath of Minerva McGuinness.”

” I wouldn’t say that…I mean he was certainly friendly. He complimented me on reading choices sans Austen. And he we would scooch over at times…nothing inappropriate.”

She ran her fingers through her hair hair then readjusted her curls, “Maybe he’s a total creep but like..at first impression tries to make himself seem all nice and calm and collected…,” her eyes widened and she shook her head, “Nah,” she shrugged, “I can sit in the corner of your next session and spy…pretend I’m doing my own work,” she said, like it was the most brilliant plan, “I could read his and your body language or whatever,” she told her and laughed, “..Still Team Rich,” she mumbled and rolled her eyes. 

Grace smiled, ” If it would make you feel better Mins…I don’t think we have anything to worry about.”

Mini gave her a look, ” I’m sure of it. I trust Doug’s judgement, when has he ever let us down?”

The blonde was still not convinced. If she had it her way she’d probably want to have a background check run on the guy. ” Mini he’s just here to help me get back to in Roundview, nothing more.”

Still ” Team Rich” alright…if he would just answer a phone call. They finally got to the McGuiness house she saw Shelly working out in the backyard. 

”’ Hello girls! Oh hey there Gracey haven’t seen you ‘round in a long while.” She put down her arm weights and wiped her brow.

” Hello Ms. McGuiness! Yeah…I was sick but I’m all better now.” Mini pushed her gently to the stairs.

Mini walked out of her house, perfectly ready for the day as usual. As she walked along the street to college she pulled out her phone, calling both Cook and Franky but their phones were either off or they weren’t answering. Mini rolled her eyes and groaned, mumbling that they needed to pick up their phones for once to herself as she dropped her phone back in her bag. As she neared Roundview, she stopped short and decided against going inside. She was in too shit of a mood, too annoyed and too stressed to have to deal with everyone there, assuming her mates wouldn’t be there, they never were these past few weeks. She had even tried to contact Rich a few times, god only knew where he was. Mini turned around and walked away from the building as she fished through her bag for cigarettes or something to preoccupy herself with. She finally pulled out a cigarette and a lighter, attempting to light it but no such luck. Mini threw the lighter on the ground, frustrated as she stuffed the cigarette back into her pack and sat there with crossed arms, staying silent.

While practicing her ballet, she and her grand parents had talked about where she would like to attend for college. Grace knew for sure that she did not want to go back to Mayberry’s, So the only other feasible option would Roundview. Daniel had gotten in touch with Doug and asked him what Grace would have to get get back into Roundview and he told him that she would have to coursework for the classes she missed. Doug suggested that she get a tutor, while he had full confidence in her abilities it was still a lot work to get done and some guidance would help. So that’s where Grace was headed. To the school’s library to meet up with her tutor.

  She walked from her Grandfather’s car towards the entrance when she spotted a familiar frustrated blonde.

” Mini? What’s wrong? That’s certainly not a happy face.”

Mini spaced out until she heard someone speaking to her. She looked up to see a worried Grace, “Gracey!” she said and smiled, getting up and pulling her in for a hug. Mini shrugged and shook her head, “Nothing, Franky and Cook haven’t been pickin’ up their phones..guessing that both are busy, Franky’s probably with Nick or something,” she told her and smiled, “Don’t worry about it, nothing big,” she reassured her. She pushed her blonde curls out of her face and looked at Grace, “So how does it feel to be back…in like normal life?” she said and laughed, “Where were you off to anyway?” she asked tilting her head, starting to play with her earring, “Good to be back in the swing of things?” she asked. Mini realized that she was bombarding Grace with questions, “Sorry..too many questions, just excited to see you, I missed you..so much,” she hugged her again and sighed, closing her eyes.

When they finally separated Mini told her why she had been a little upset.

“Nothing, Franky and Cook haven’t been pickin’ up their phones..guessing that both are busy, Franky’s probably with Nick or something….Don’t worry about it, nothing big”

She was onto her third cigarette then flicked it onto the ground as her phone buzzed. He said that he found Jane Austen dry and I nearly had a heart-attack. He made up for it by saying that he liked Harry Potter. So…i guess he’s alright…literature wise.” 

She asked Mini if she had eaten, she shook her head. Grace flagged down a waitress and ordered their special pastry. 2 large gooey cinnamon rolls for them to share, with rainbow sprinkles that were bake inside and two ice teas. 

” We’re meeting up twice a week to do course work. I think it will be okay. I just can’t wait to start back at Roundview. Back to normalacy.”

Taking a bite of cinnamon bun, she help but smile, ” Heaven, absolute heaven. I’ve missed these so much!”

” We also talked about you Mins. He said that you had “moxie”. I told him, that it was just your way. He said that I was lucky to have a friend who was protective. I told him about you, Livs and Franky, how you guys always look for me. I told him that I couldn’t ask for better group of mates, we get each other. We’re each other’s rock.”

And then a thought struck her, that made her laugh, ” Oh yeah, Louis told me the next he saw you he would need your number. Being my personal assistant, he figured he would have to contact you some way. Wouldn’t want to incur the wrath of Minerva McGuinness.”

Mini walked out of her house, perfectly ready for the day as usual. As she walked along the street to college she pulled out her phone, calling both Cook and Franky but their phones were either off or they weren’t answering. Mini rolled her eyes and groaned, mumbling that they needed to pick up their phones for once to herself as she dropped her phone back in her bag. As she neared Roundview, she stopped short and decided against going inside. She was in too shit of a mood, too annoyed and too stressed to have to deal with everyone there, assuming her mates wouldn’t be there, they never were these past few weeks. She had even tried to contact Rich a few times, god only knew where he was. Mini turned around and walked away from the building as she fished through her bag for cigarettes or something to preoccupy herself with. She finally pulled out a cigarette and a lighter, attempting to light it but no such luck. Mini threw the lighter on the ground, frustrated as she stuffed the cigarette back into her pack and sat there with crossed arms, staying silent.

While practicing her ballet, she and her grand parents had talked about where she would like to attend for college. Grace knew for sure that she did not want to go back to Mayberry’s, So the only other feasible option would Roundview. Daniel had gotten in touch with Doug and asked him what Grace would have to get get back into Roundview and he told him that she would have to coursework for the classes she missed. Doug suggested that she get a tutor, while he had full confidence in her abilities it was still a lot work to get done and some guidance would help. So that’s where Grace was headed. To the school’s library to meet up with her tutor.

  She walked from her Grandfather’s car towards the entrance when she spotted a familiar frustrated blonde.

” Mini? What’s wrong? That’s certainly not a happy face.”

Mini spaced out until she heard someone speaking to her. She looked up to see a worried Grace, “Gracey!” she said and smiled, getting up and pulling her in for a hug. Mini hadn’t seen Grace since she was released, she was more than happy to see her back into regular life. Mini? What’s wrong? That’s certainly not a happy face. She pushed her blonde curls out of her face and looked at Grace, “So how does it feel to be back…in like normal life?” she said and laughed, “Where were you off to anyway?” she asked tilting her head, starting to play with her earring, “Good to be back in the swing of things?” she asked. Mini realized that she was bombarding Grace with questions, “Sorry..too many questions, just excited to see you, I missed you..so much,” she hugged her again and sighed, closing her eyes.

When they finally separated Mini told her why she had been a little upset.

“Nothing, Franky and Cook haven’t been pickin’ up their phones..guessing that both are busy, Franky’s probably with Nick or something….Don’t worry about it, nothing big”

It wasn’t like Franky to not pick up her phone, especially if was one of them were trying to get a hold of her. “The library, I have to meet my tutor…. It’s wonderful. I’m staying with my grandparents instead of mum and dad., um granddad talked to Doug and asked him what I would need to do to get back into Roundview and he said that I would have to make up all the course work I missed. He set also set tutor for me to help me keep organized and stuff. I won’t officially be starting classes until all my course work is completed.”

Grace hugged Mini back, ” I’ve missed you too Mini-moo. You heading to class right now?”

The girls took their took their time get to the library, they would talk about little things and joked around with each other. It was nice being around people that were familiar to her. Mini, even though she would probably never admit it, was a very sweet girl. She was caring and knew how to make her friends happier. Grace knew that Mini would always be on her side.

Mini spaced out until she heard someone speaking to her. She looked up to see a worried Grace, “Gracey!” she said and smiled, getting up and pulling her in for a hug. Mini hadn’t seen Grace since she was released, she was more than happy to see her back into regular life. Mini? What’s wrong? That’s certainly not a happy face. Mini shrugged and shook her head, “Nothing, Franky and Cook haven’t been pickin’ up their phones..guessing that both are busy, Franky’s probably with Nick or something,” she told her and smiled, “Don’t worry about it, nothing big,” she reassured her. She pushed her blonde curls out of her face and looked at Grace, “So how does it feel to be back…in like normal life?” she said and laughed, “Where were you off to anyway?” she asked tilting her head, starting to play with her earring, “Good to be back in the swing of things?” she asked. Mini realized that she was bombarding Grace with questions, “Sorry..too many questions, just excited to see you, I missed you..so much,” she hugged her again and sighed, closing her eyes.

Grace hugged her back just as fiercely, she laughed at her surprise.

” Silly girl I sent everyone a text, didn’t you get it?”

When they finally separated Mini told her why she had been a little upset.

“Nothing, Franky and Cook haven’t been pickin’ up their phones..guessing that both are busy, Franky’s probably with Nick or something….Don’t worry about it, nothing big”

It wasn’t like Franky to not pick up her phone, especially if was one of them were trying to get a hold of her. Mini said not worry about so she wouldn’t for now, she probably was with Nick.She wasn’t too sure about Cook. A light breeze came through. She was glad that she thought to wear a sundress.

“Where were you off to anyway?…Good to be back in the swing of things? Sorry..too many questions, just excited to see you, I missed you..so much,”

“The library, I have to meet my tutor…. It’s wonderful. I’m staying with my grandparents instead of mum and dad., um granddad talked to Doug and asked him what I would need to do to get back into Roundview and he said that I would have to make up all the course work I missed. He set also set tutor for me to help me keep organized and stuff. I won’t officially be starting classes until all my course work is completed.”

Grace hugged Mini back, ” I’ve missed you too Mini-moo. You heading to class right now?”

Silly girl I sent everyone a text, didn’t you get it? Mini smiled, “Yeah..still can’t believe it though, been so long..” she widened her eyes slightly and shook her head. She took out her phone again but just stuffed it back in her pocket, feeling anxious from checking it so often, it was probably nothing; at least that’s what she kept telling herself. The library, I have to meet my tutor…. It’s wonderful. I’m staying with my grandparents instead of mum and dad. Mini lifted up her eyebrows, “Really..the reins are off..gonna let loose, go a little wild?” she joked and nudged her, giggling with her. Mini listened to Grace and nodded along as she told her about tutoring and going back to Roundview, I won’t officially be starting classes until all my course work is completed. Mini smiled again, “I wouldn’t rush to get it done if I were you, I swear I’m going to kill everyone there,” Grace gave her a look to tell her to be nice and Mini rolled her eyes, “Fine..sorry, sorry, I’ll be nice,” she mumbled and sighed. I’ve missed you too Mini-moo. You heading to class right now? Mini bit her lip and looked down the street then shook her head, “Nah, I wasn’t feeling well, tired..was going to go home or something but just needed some fresh air outside first,” she rubbed the back of her neck. Mini got up, “Here, I’ll walk with you to the library,” she told her and nodded. They started walked and Mini walked next to Grace, linking arms with her and a smile on her face, Grace always put her in that mood, that happy like everything will be alright mood, then again she did that to most people. Mini looked at her, “So..spoken to Rich?” she nudged her and grinned. 

The girls took their took their time get to the library, they would talk about little things and joked around with each other. It was nice being around people that were familiar to her. Living with her grandparents was nice but the neighborhood was so quiet. Lyle was nice, but he was always so nervous around her that they didn’t really talk much. They either sat around or went over a few dance steps. Her grandmother had told her that he goes to Roundview so she might see him around. Mini nudged her with her a grin on her face.

“So..spoken to Rich?”

Grace frowned when she brought him up.

” I haven’t….I mean I’ve sent texts and I’ve left two voicemails and still…nothing. It’s like he’s disappeared off the face of the earth. I hope everything is okay…”

She was worried, to put it simply. Something hadn’t felt right within her for a while now. She just wished that he would call, just to tell her that he was okay.

” He never came back to see me at the hospital, even after he said that he would take me somewhere special. Maybe he’s rethinking o-our friendship…I don’t know what I could’ve done Mini. It must’ve been something though I just can’t think of it. My gran thinks I should get a new guy mate…she even tried to set me up a boy in the neighborhood. She says that he goes here…but I don’t want a new fella, mate or not…I just want…Richard.” 

Mini bit her lip and furrowed her brows, her smile faded as soon as Grace’s did. I haven’t….I mean I’ve sent texts and I’ve left two voicemails and still…nothing. I hope everything is okay… Mini put her arm around Grace and hugged her, “Sure he’s fine..that’s just..Rich being mopey and goth or whatever like always,” she reassured her, not wanting her to get upset, “Seems everyone has just been busy these past few weeks…no one seems to pick up their phone anymore,” she rolled her eyes then scratched the back of her head as she ruffled her curls. Maybe he’s rethinking o-our friendship…I don’t know what I could’ve done Mini. It must’ve been something though I just can’t think of it. Mini shook her head quickly, “He wouldn’t do that to you…,” restraining from adding an ‘I think’ at the end, “Like I said..probably busy with like coursework,” she shrugged, even though she hadn’t seen him at college in a while she just did what she did best: pretend like nothing was wrong and everything was just dandy. My gran thinks I should get a new guy mate…she even tried to set me up a boy in the neighborhood. She says that he goes here…but I don’t want a new fella, mate or not…I just want…Richard. Mini scrunched up her nose, “Ew..make sure he’s not like a total twat or some skeevy lunatic,” she told Grace but then realized what she was saying, “I mean, if you don’t want that..don’t let her change your mind. I know Rich cares, don’t think anyone has heard from him..I wouldn’t worry, yah?” she smiled at Grace and rubbed her back, “I’m certain he wants you too,” she poked at Grace’s arm and giggled, she hadn’t spoken to Rich but she knew that it probably was true, she hoped it was. Mini let out a sigh, “Enough of the sad talk, later this week we’re going to get you in one of your pretty little dresses and take you out,” she grinned and nodded, “Spoken to Liv?” she asked, “Think she’s been busy with her boyfriend..haven’t seen her around much,” she said, feeling like Liv was avoiding her but she would never admit that. 

Mini, even though she would probably never admit it, was a very sweet girl. She was caring and knew how to make her friends happier. Grace knew that Mini would always be on her side.

” Thanks Minis…I just…I don’t know I’m feeling a little insecure right now. Why isn’t he talking to me? Why aren’t we talking to each other like we used to? Where are all my friends?” Grace put her head on the blonde’s shoulder and sighed.

” Is it sad that I can’t see myself with anyone else? To want someone so much… To be happy just to know that they’re near?”

Grace and Mini stopped and sat on a low wall.

” I haven’t seen Liv either, maybe you’re right. She’s probably with her boyfriend.” Grace felt uneasy. The last text message she had got from Liv sounded very ominous. Like she was upset about something. 

Suddenly she didn’t feel like going to her tutor meeting, she didn’t think that she could focus anyway. But then she didn’t want to disappoint Doug, he went through all that trouble to find her the tutor, she could at least meet the person. 

” Walk me to the library? We could meet my tutor and then you could got to class…if you want…”

“Sure Grace, I’ll go. Have to make sure that this person isn’t some wakadoo.” Grace laughed, grabbed on to Mini’s hand.

” Doug says that he’s really smart…and that he’s been a great tutor to other people. He goes to Uni.” They got to the library and started to look around. The library was mostly empty, the girls were about to leave until they heard a voice.

” Grace Blood? Hi. I’m Louis Everly, I’m going to be your tutor.”

To want someone so much… To be happy just to know that they’re near?  Mini looked down and thought about what she asked, then thought about how she answered. She looked back up and shook her head, “It’s not sad, good that you’re happy when he’s near..can be a bit overwhelming..I’m guessing,” she ruffled her hair and rested her chin on her hand as she let out a sigh, “It’ll be ok…everything will be ok,” she told Grace what she had been telling herself for weeks, actually, her whole life. Walk me to the library? We could meet my tutor and then you could got to class…if you want… Mini agreed to go with her and laughed with Grace as they walked along, Doug says that he’s really smart…and that he’s been a great tutor to other people. He goes to Uni. Mini lifted up her eyebrow and nodded, “Bet he’s like some young Einstein or some shit,” she joked, snickering to herself. Grace Blood? Hi. I’m Louis Everly, I’m going to be your tutor, Mini crossed her arms and looked the tutor up and down with judgment, like she always did when she met people; instantly put on the bitch front, well most of the time. Mini shook his hand, “Hi, I’m Minerva McGuinness, Grace’s personal assistant, any time you want to meet with her you have to confirm with me first,” she said with a huge, obnoxious grin. Grace gave her a look and hit her arm lightly as she pressed her lips together, holding her laughter in. She walked away from him a bit with Grace, “You gonna be ok? For all you know, he can be a total creep,” she told Grace, always seeing the worst in people at first impressions. 

Grace rolled her eyes when Mini introduced herself.

“Hi, I’m Minerva McGuinness, Grace’s personal assistant, any time you want to meet with her you have to confirm with me first.”

Louis was able to go with the flow, “Well Ms. McGuinness, I wouldn’t want to incur your wrath, you seem like you could do some damage.”

Grace laughed and Mini smirked. She brought Grace over to chat.

“You gonna be ok? For all you know, he can be a total creep.”

” Mini, we’re in the library and there are cameras every where. I think I’ll be okay. Besides, Doug’s the one that set this up. He must be on the level. I’ll text you when I’m done. We could go to the cafe and get something. Like old times, okay?” Grace rubbed her friends arm soothingly.

” Alright, but if he tries anything just tell me and I’ll deal with him.” Grace shook her head told waved goodbye.

She walked back to her tutor and smiled, ” Let’s begin shall we?”

” We shall. Anything in particular you to go with?”

” English! It’s a my favorite.” Louis laughed at her enthusiasm

” Well then English it is.” They walked over to a near by table and began working.

Mini walked out of her house, perfectly ready for the day as usual. As she walked along the street to college she pulled out her phone, calling both Cook and Franky but their phones were either off or they weren’t answering. Mini rolled her eyes and groaned, mumbling that they needed to pick up their phones for once to herself as she dropped her phone back in her bag. As she neared Roundview, she stopped short and decided against going inside. She was in too shit of a mood, too annoyed and too stressed to have to deal with everyone there, assuming her mates wouldn’t be there, they never were these past few weeks. She had even tried to contact Rich a few times, god only knew where he was. Mini turned around and walked away from the building as she fished through her bag for cigarettes or something to preoccupy herself with. She finally pulled out a cigarette and a lighter, attempting to light it but no such luck. Mini threw the lighter on the ground, frustrated as she stuffed the cigarette back into her pack and sat there with crossed arms, staying silent.

While practicing her ballet, she and her grand parents had talked about where she would like to attend for college. Grace knew for sure that she did not want to go back to Mayberry’s, So the only other feasible option would Roundview. Daniel had gotten in touch with Doug and asked him what Grace would have to get get back into Roundview and he told him that she would have to coursework for the classes she missed. Doug suggested that she get a tutor, while he had full confidence in her abilities it was still a lot work to get done and some guidance would help. So that’s where Grace was headed. To the school’s library to meet up with her tutor.

  She walked from her Grandfather’s car towards the entrance when she spotted a familiar frustrated blonde.
